Veteran all-rounder Shoaib Malik has officially stated that has no desire to international cricket for Pakistan.

In a recent interview with Cricket, Malik, who has already stepped back from two formats, affirmed that his days in international cricket are behind him “No, I feel content and fulfilled after so years in the game. I have no intention of returning to represent Pakistan,” Malik expressed.

I’ve already announced my retirement from two formats. I enjoy playing league cricket and make the most out of any opportunity that comes my way,” he continued.

When asked about his retirement from T20 international cricket, the former captain hinted that he plans to retire from all forms of cricket eventually.

“I’m not interested, but as I mentioned in earlier interviews, I will formally announce my retirement from all types of cricket when the time comes,” he stated.

It’s important to mention that the 42-year-old has played 124 T20I matches for Pakistan, accumulating 2,435 runs at an average of 31.21 and a strike rate of 125.64, including nine half-centuries. He has also taken 28 wickets in this shorter format.

In domestic T20 competitions, Malik has scored 13,360 runs across 542 matches, with 83 fifties. He is presently the second-highest run-scorer in this format, trailing only Chris Gayle, who has scored 14,562 runs in 463 matches.
